LVM Tērvete Nature Park
The Latvian State Forest Nature Park in Tērvete is one of the most popular and family-friendly places in Latvia for tourists. The park dates back to 1958, when Tērvete forester Miķelis Kļaviņš (1907–1973) created the first nature trails in the overgrown forest. Since 2000, the park has been managed by AS “Latvijas valsts meži” (Latvian State Forests), and currently, a 35 km long network of trails has been developed in the park’s area of more than 1,200 ha, which runs through the park and connects its thematic parts. Crossing the many bridges, footbridges and stairs over the ancient valley of the Tērvete River, park guests enter the fairy-tale world inspired by the writer Anna Brigadere.
