Institute of Horticulture

The Institute of Horticulture is one of the leading fruit and vegetable research centres in the Nordic countries. For 80 years, Latvian scientists in Dobele and Pūr have been researching and developing new varieties of vegetables suitable for Baltic conditions, researching environmentally friendly garden systems, developing innovative food products, conducting research in plant biology, thus learning and improving knowledge using modern state-of-the-art technology, organising events and welcoming visitors to the lilac and fruit orchard.
